Spend the day exploring how stories, memories, and meaningful moments can inspire your textile art. Bridget guides participants through simple exercises to help uncover personal inspiration—whether from nature, a cherished textile, or a feeling you want to express.
Using approachable techniques, we explore how line, movement, colour, and value shape the mood and message of a stitched piece. Participants experiment with reclaimed fabrics and thread from their own stash, learning how sustainable material choices can deepen the connection between story and stitch.
By afternoon, each student begins a small stitched “story study” to explore expressive threadwork in a low-pressure way. You’ll leave with the early direction for a new piece, a stitched sample, and practical tools for continued creative exploration.

This class is perfect for novice+ thread painters who are comfortable with their sewing machines and eager to unleash their creativity with free motion experimentation. Novice-Intermediate
